Nicholson War Memorial, Leek

Having over 40 years experience in the art of goldleaf gilding, we were selected to restore and goldleaf the four clock faces situated 80' above the ground on the Nicholson War Memorial in Leek, Staffordshire.

The process involved preparing and repainting all the details on the clock faces in black (3 coats) and gilding the faces of the details in 23.50 carat goldleaf.

We are more than happy to be involved with all types of gilding restoration projects and our team of skilled gilders regularly travel throughout the UK undertaking all types of gilding work.

Gold Leaf Gilding

Being asked to undertake the traditional goldleaf gilding at the Tower of London Crown Jewels House has been a tremendous accolade for Brian The Brush, especially during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year. Even after more than forty years as one of the UK's leading experts in the traditional art of gold leaf gilding we feel projects don't come much bigger than that. However, we are always delighted to undertake all types and sizes of gilding projects, from the smallest honours board to the biggest monument, and consistently produce work of the highest quality.

Brian and his team regularly travel throughout the UK undertaking all types of gilding projects, including reverse glass gilding, decorative and achitectural gilding. We invite you to browse through our Gilding gallery and see some of the most recent works we have carried out. If we can assist you by providing a quotation for your project please do not hestiate to ask.
