This was another interesting project. The brief was to create an old-fashioned, distressed sign to be fitted, with no visible fixings, on the interior wall of a reception area for an advertising agency.

Our craftsman joiner constructed the wooden sign, 9′ x 4′, using traditional methods and then we hand-painted and distressed the sign using a variety of techniques, including crackle glazes and rubbing back the paint surfaces to reveal the previous coats of paint underneath.
The client was absolutely delighted with the result and it certainly forms an eye-catching focal point to the reception area.

The agency filmed Brian ‘splashin’ the paint’ and used the video for a Valentine’s Day promotion, before giving us a copy of the finished version which is available to view in the ‘video’ section of this website – please take a look and watch the Master at work!
