Image 1 – (Before) We were contacted by the resident chaplain of the church at Aldershot barracks and requested to restore this cockerel weather vane to its former glory.
As you can see from the photograph, it was in need of plenty of TLC, which we were happy to provide.
Image 2 – (After) The restoration process involved stripping the existing paintwork off completely to reveal the cockerel was in fact made of copper, which therefore needed a special primer to allow our paintwork to adhere correctly to the surface.
After several coats of paint, we applied 23.25ct goldleaf to the entire cockerel and, as you can see from the photograph above, the results were outstanding.
