Project Info
Working on this 1m high cockerel, cut from stainless steel, involved sandblasting the metal surface in order to secure a good ‘keying’ of the paint, which can sometimes be a problem when trying to coat stainless steel.
We then powder coated the areas to be gilded in yellow before applying extra thick 23.25ct goldleaf to both sides of the cockerel, which was then positioned on a church spire in Manchester.
Having over 40 years experience in the fine art of goldleaf gilding, we are proficient in all types of architectural and decorative gilding.
